If you were hoping to see a bigger battery on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, you are out of luck. A recent regulatory certification confirms an unchanged battery for the next Samsung flagship. The device has a rated battery capacity of 4,885mAh, the same as the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The typical capacity should also remain unchanged at 5,000mAh.
Galaxy S25 Ultra battery capacity revealed in new certification
Over the past few weeks, we have seen multiple battery certifications for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. However, those listings only revealed the model numbers, keeping the battery capacity a secret. In the meantime, some reliable industry insiders claimed Samsung won’t offer a bigger battery in the 2025 Ultra flagship. We now have documented proof.
Chinese regulatory agency 3C (China Compulsory Certification) recently certified the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s batteries with model numbers EB-BS938ABY and EB-BS938ABE, the same two model numbers previously certified in Korea and India. Just to be clear, the device will not pack two batteries. The two variants are most likely an internal thing.
Anyway, the 3C certification specified the rated capacity of these batteries. At, 4,885mAh, it’s unchanged from the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which means the typical battery capacity will also remain the same (5,000mAh). We aren’t complaining, though. Samsung’s current Ultra flagship offers a great battery life, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra is likely to improve upon it.
Rumors say Samsung will make the new phone’s display with more efficient OLED materials. Its 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset should also bring efficiency gains over the 4nm Gen 3 chipset on the S24 Ultra. Moreover, the company is expected to introduce advanced AI tools for power management, helping boost the new phone’s battery life.
All things considered, this is still good news. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is also getting thinner and narrower, reducing its overall size. Samsung has done well to offer the same battery capacity in a more compact profile. The charging speed is also likely to remain unchanged at 45W.
