Leaks about the Galaxy S24 FE have been ramping up recently, hinting at an imminent launch. While Samsung has yet to announce its launch date, the new Fan Edition phone has surfaced again in a benchmark listing. It confirms the Exynos 2400e chip for another market. Rumors say the device will go official in October.
Galaxy S24 FE confirmed to get Exynos chip in more markets
Samsung shipped the Galaxy S24 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (For Galaxy) chip globally. However, it used the Exynos 2400 in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ in most markets, including Europe. The Galaxy S24 FE is expected to have a similar dual-chip strategy. There is no evidence of a Snapdragon variant yet, but Samsung is unlikely to ship the phone with an Exynos chip in the US and China.
Or maybe it doesn’t plan to release the new FE handset in these markets, we shall find out in the coming weeks. Today, we have confirmation that the Galaxy S24 FE will run an Exynos chip in Samsung’s home country South Korea. As leaked before, it isn’t the regular Exynos 2400 found in the flagship models but a lower-clocked Exynos 2400e. The Cortex-X4 prime core runs at 3.11GHz instead of 3.21GHz.
Geekbench listings for the phone also confirm that the Exynos chipset still has ten CPU cores and the other nine cores are unchanged. The Xclipse 940 GPU also carries over unchanged, operating at a peak frequency of 1095MHz. This chipset will power the Galaxy S24 FE in most other markets too. It’s unclear if a Snapdragon version exists, and if Samsung will similarly throttle the Qualcomm chipset.
Elsewhere, the Galaxy S24 FE has a 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,900 nits of peak brightness. It should boast up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. Cameras include a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultrawide lens, an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 10MP selfie camera. The phone features a 4,565mAh battery with 25W charging. It runs Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 out of the box.
