Here’s Why Samsung Delayed One UI 7.0 Beta

by | Aug 8, 2024 | News, One UI

If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the One UI 7.0 beta, you might be wondering why Samsung has delayed its release. The reason may be quite simple. A reliable industry insider says the company wants to ensure a “good first impression” on beta testers. It’s working internally to address more obvious and annoying bugs, so early adopters get a relatively stable experience from day one.

Samsung delayed One UI 7.0 beta to ensure a stellar first impression

Initially expected to arrive in late July, the One UI 7.0 beta update now looks a distant dream. If tipsters are accurate, the chances of an August release are slim. This has confused the whole Galaxy fraternity as to what has gone wrong so badly. It turns out Samsung’s development work is progressing fairly smoothly. The company is intentionally delaying the release to achieve a certain level of stability.

According to tipster Ice Universe, Samsung wants to fix more obvious bugs on its own without involving consumers. Once its One UI 7.0 development reaches a certain standard, it will open beta programs. The reliable tipster urged Galaxy users to “just wait patiently”. Hopefully, it will be worthwhile. We won’t complain if the first beta build is stable enough to be downloaded on a daily driver.

In that case, Samsung shouldn’t require many beta updates to achieve full stability. Last year, the company started One UI 6.0 beta in the second week of August and rolled out 9-10 updates before the stable release in late October. Maybe it could do with fewer beta updates this year and hit the stable build by the end of October, only time will tell. As things stand, One UI 7.0 beta is nowhere to be seen.

To make it more annoying for Galaxy users, Samsung seems to have delayed the One UI 6.1.1 update too. It will bring new AI features, camera enhancements, and more to eligible smartphones and tablets launched before the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 (non-folding phones will receive a new One UI 6.1 build). Samsung really needs to get its act together sooner rather than later.
