Samsung’s One UI 7.0 Clock and Internet Apps Leaked (APK Download)

by | Jul 30, 2024 | News, One UI, Samsung Apps

Samsung is redesigning its first-party apps for Galaxy devices with One UI 7.0. Not just the icons, but the user interface is getting a revamp to match the system-wide UI overhaul. The updated apps will be available to the public via the Galaxy Store once One UI 7.0 is official. However, two of those app updates have leaked early, giving us a closer look at Samsung’s UI redesign. The apps in question are Clock and Samsung Internet.

Samsung revamps its Clock and Internet apps for One UI 7.0

The One UI 7.0 version of Samsung’s Clock app brings a few notable design changes. The icon now has a bigger clock interface with a colored hour hand. Homescreen widgets are also bigger and feature opaque backgrounds. Samsung has added ticks for hours and minutes to the analog clock widget. The world clock widget has been combined into a single, dual-colored block. Currently, it creates two separate blocks.

Inside the Clock app, the bottom navigation bar for Alarm, World Clock, Stopwatch, and Timer has matching icons. The rest of the app looks similar to the current version, bar for some color adjustments for visual enhancement. The Samsung Internet app for One UI 7.0 hasn’t received many notable UI changes, though. We made a video showing off the new APK visual improvements and some other leaked One UI 7.0 changes.

Should you install these apps on your Galaxy with One UI 6?

In short, you shouldn’t. Apart from some visual changes, One UI 7.0 versions of Samsung’s Clock and Internet apps don’t offer anything extra. They are functionally the same as the official versions available on the Galaxy Store. Since sideloading APK files can potentially open doors for malware, you should avoid this practice as much as you can. Samsung itself now disables sideloading on its phones by default.

However, if you know what you are doing and want to try out the new versions early, you can download the Clock app from here and the Samsung internet app from here. Both links go to APKMirror, a popular destination for APK files. Rumors say Samsung will begin the One UI 7.0 public beta in the third week of August, so expect more leaks in the coming weeks. We will let you know when the beta programs open.
