Samsung has begun rolling out the March 2025 security update for the Galaxy S25 Ultra in several markets, including South Korea, Europe, and India. Now, the update is also reaching T-Mobile carrier-locked units in the US. However, it has not yet been released for unlocked Galaxy S25 Ultra units. That said, it looks like the update will be available for unlocked units in the US soon.
T-Mobile Galaxy S25 Ultra users are now receiving March security update
The latest March 2025 security update for T-Mobile’s Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with firmware version S938USQ1AYBC. It’s approximately 570MB in size. As usual, the release notes provide minimal details, only stating that “the security of your device has been improved.” The update began rolling out on Monday morning for T-Mobile units.
Samsung’s March update for the Galaxy S25 series primarily focuses on security enhancements from the March 2025 Security Maintenance Release (SMR). While there may be minor bug fixes or stability improvements, no new features or visible changes have been included. Notably, the Galaxy S25 lineup is still missing some One UI 7.0 features already available on the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, such as Live Notification support in the media player. Samsung may delay these additions until the full One UI 7.0 rollout next month.
The update includes over 50 security fixes, addressing 11 critical Android OS vulnerabilities patched by Google, along with several Galaxy-specific security improvements. Users in the US and other regions can expect to receive the update soon. To check for the update manually on your T-Mobile Galaxy S25 Ultra, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
