Last year, Samsung earned โProduct Carbon Reductionโ Certification for its 60 models across the Neo QLED, OLED, and Lifestyle TV categories. This year, the Korean firm expanded its carbon-certified products to include QLED TVs. On top of that, the company is also working to earn certification for its Color E-Paper lineup later this year.
TรV Rheinland Awards โProduct Carbon Reductionโ and โProduct Carbon Footprintโ Certifications
In a Newsroom post, Samsung announced that about 80 models of its 2025 TVs, monitors, and soundbars have earned โProduct Carbon Reductionโ and โProduct Carbon Footprintโ Certifications from TรV Rheinland โ a globally recognized certification organization based in Germany. Some of the recently certified models include Neo QLED 8K (QN990F, QN950F), Neo QLED 4K (QN90F, QN85F), OLED (S95F 55โ/65โ, S90F, S85F 77โ/83โ), The Frame Pro (LS03FW), LCD Signage (QMC 43โ, 50โ, 55โ, 75โ), and Soundbar (Q930F, Q800F, QS700F) products.
Interestingly, this is the fifth year in a row that Samsungโs premium lineups, Neo QLED 8K and Neo QLED, have received certifications for reducing carbon emissions. In 2021, Samsungโs Neo QLED was the first 4K and higher resolution TV to get the Reducing CO2 certification. So far, the company has added QLED, Crystal UHD, Lifestyle TVs, OLED TVs, and a whole range of monitors and digital signage products to its certified range.
โSamsung Electronics is committed to driving technological innovation for a sustainable future. As the worldโs leading TV manufacturer, we will continue to be at the forefront of establishing a more energy-efficient ecosystem that benefits consumers,โ said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung.
Based on internationally recognized sustainability standards, TรV Rheinland certifies a productโs entire lifecycle from manufacturing to transportation to usage to disposal. So, getting certification from such an organization shows Samsungโs efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its products. It is noteworthy that the โProduct Carbon Reductionโ certification goes to those products that have already earned โProduct Carbon Footprintโ certification and have shown a measurable reduction in carbon emissions from previous models.
