Those who regularly use the Samsung Members app already know how handy it is. You can stay on top of the latest updates, jump into discussions, and be part of a community. But unfortunately, if youโre still holding onto an older device running Android 7, your luck is about to run out. Samsung has announced that it will discontinue the Samsung Members app for devices running Android 7 (Nougat).
Samsung is ending the support for the Samsung Members app on Android 7 (Nougat)
The Samsung Members operations team made an official announcement (via Reddit user perfectmongoose) on community forums. Starting April 1, 2025, the Samsung Members app will no longer support Galaxy phones running Android 7 (Nougat). According to the announcement, this decision is due to recent changes in Samsung Membersโ service operation policy.

Once the service ends, users with these older operating systems will be locked out of the Members app. Moving forward, the app will only be compatible with Galaxy devices running Android 8 (Oreo) or newer. If you want to continue using it, you might want to check whether your phone is eligible for an Android 8 update. If itโs not, youโll either have to bid farewell to the Samsung Members app or start shopping for a new phone.
To be fair, Android 7 launched over nine years ago. And Iโm honestly surprised itโs still in the game. Itโs common for apps to pull the plug on older operating systems, especially when very few people are still using them. This could be a sign that Android 7 is practically extinct. Or, more accurately, that hardly any Samsung Members users are still on Android 7, which may be why support is being phased out.
