Another day, another batch of Samsung Galaxy phones received the February security update. The latest security patch is rolling out to the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy S24 FE, and Galaxy A35. Samsung previously released this update for the Galaxy S22, S23, S24, and S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Flip 4, Fold 5, Flip 5, Fold 6, and Flip 6 foldables, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and a few mid-range models.
Galaxy S21, S24 FE, and A35 receive Samsung’s February update
Samsung is currently rolling out the February security update to the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra in Europe. The devices are picking up the firmware build number G99*BXXSEGYA2, with the update bringing nothing more than this month’s security fixes. The latest SMR (Security Maintenance Release) for Galaxy devices contains over 40 vulnerability patches, including a critical Android OS fix.
The Galaxy S24 FE is also initially receiving the February SMR in Europe, with its new build number being S721BXXS3AYA4. The changelog remains the same, so don’t expect anything more. Samsung will roll out a major feature update to this Fan Edition smartphone in the coming months. We are talking about One UI 7.0, Samsung’s Android 15 update. The rollout may begin in April if not earlier.
The Galaxy S21 series is also eligible for One UI 7.0, and so is the Galaxy A35. Once again, the rollout begins in Europe and carries the same changelog. The updated build number for this mid-range smartphone is A356BXXS4AYB1. Samsung will gradually expand the rollout to other markets, including the US. The company will also update more Galaxy phones to the February security patch in the coming days.
Galaxy users can check for new software updates on their phones manually anytime. Simply open the Settings app, go to the Software update menu, and tap Download and install. If an update is available, you will be prompted to download it. If not, check back again later.
