Samsung hints at AI features for its Galaxy A mid-range phones
Galaxy AI, Samsung’s suite of on-device and cloud-based AI features for smartphones and tablets, is currently limited to flagship models in the S and Z series. The Galaxy A lineup only supports Circle to Search, which is essentially a Google feature. However, this could change soon, if Samsung’s new trademark is what we think it is.
The Korean firm recently applied for a trademark for the moniker “Awesome Intelligence” in the US, Europe, and Korea. While the official description doesn’t reveal anything specific, the use of the term “Awesome” gives us something to talk about. Samsung has widely used this term to promote its A series phones.
For the past several years, Samsung’s official marketing materials for Galaxy A devices have featured the term “Awesome” front and center. It uses buzzwords like “Awesome camera,” “Awesome camera,” and “Awesome is for everyone,” for these phones. As such, Awesome Intelligence could be its AI suite for the Galaxy A lineup. Interestingly, the term neatly abbreviates to AI.
If we are to speculate more, Samsung could introduce Awesome Intelligence with the Galaxy A56, its upcoming premium mid-range phone. The device should debut in March with the 4nm Exynos 1580 processor. The new chip should handle simpler Galaxy AI features, such as browsing assist and writing assist, with ease.
Ahead of that, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 series with more AI features. The new flagships go official on January 22 and are expected to introduce AI notification summary, video object eraser, audio eraser, and more advanced AI tools. You can pre-reserve the devices now to secure extra credit and more freebies when you place your order.
